The Mewar Ramayana was produced in Udaipur between roughly 1649 and 1653 under the patronage of Rana Jagat Singh I of Mewar. The principal artist of this section was Sahibdin, one of the great masters of the Mewar school, known for his dynamic multi-episode compositions where several moments of a narrative unfold within a single frame. The scene you've described comes from the Yuddha Kanda (the war book), depicting the final stretch of the war against Ravana.

The manuscript is now split between collections, with a large portion held at the British Library in London and other folios in India.
